You may have noticed that your grocery store has a wide variety of options for what you can buy with the same ingredients you buy at your local supermarket.
The big question is, what are they all worth?
It’s the price tag, after all, that makes all the difference.
To answer that question, we’ve broken down the most commonly asked questions for grocery stores.
But before we dive in, let’s take a look at what a typical grocery store can get for your money.
What you get The average price of a supermarket meal or a package of groceries varies from store to store, so we’ve gathered the prices listed here from the National Grocery Manufacturers Association.
If you’re in a grocery store in the Midwest, look for the cheapest prices.
For example, if you’re buying one meal for $2.49, you’ll pay $2 per package.
If that same meal is $3.49 at your store in Florida, you can save $3 per package by shopping at Target or Walmart.
If, on the other hand, you’re looking for the most economical prices, look at the price you pay for the same food in a package.
For instance, if the price is $2 for one meal, you pay $1.95 for the meal.
If it’s $3 for one bag, you save $1 per bag.
